RULES AND REGULATIONS

1.          Entries must be received by August 19 and must show class.   

2.          $2.00 per head/per department entry fee must accompany the entry blank.

3.          OUT OF STATE CATTLE—“Certificate of Veterinary Inspection” (CVI) must be issued within 30 days of opening date of                   the fair.

4.          When on exhibition in the ring, each animal must be under halter and in charge of the owner. 

5.          Exhibits in these classes can also be entered in the open class. 

6.          All rules as to the time of entry and removal and fair regulations are the same as in the open class competition. 

7.          All 4-H and FFA exhibitors must furnish proof that all entries are carried as projects.

8.          4H AND FFA BEEF CATTLE ENTRIES ELIGIBLE FOR FITTING/SHOWMANSHIP AND GOOD HOUSEKEEPING AWARDS.

Section 2MS - MARKET STEERS

No steer weighing less than 900 lbs. will be admitted for Market Steer Competition.  Animal must be a castrated male. - Maximum sale weight of 1,550 lbs.

Market Steer Classes will be divided into evenly numbered classes at the discretion of the Beef Chariman and committee.  Minimum of 4 steer per class, 9 classes maximum.

Steers sold at Thursday night's sale must be properly cared for by their owner through Sunday morning. This includes watering, feeding, stall cleaning, and the cleanliness of the animal. A proper rope halter must be left on the animal Sunday morning. Failure to comply to these rules could result in forfeiting of prizes.

Market steers that are eligible to be sold in the Waterford Fair Livestock Sale will also receive banners for Champion and Reserve Champions in classes 4-8.
