Upon arrival, all livestock exhibits (including out of state entries) must present a current "Certificate of Veterinary Inspection" (CVI) form.

Pennsylvania Swine  -         CVI issued after May 1, current year

Out of State Swine -            CVI Issued within 14 days of opening date of the fair

  1. No breeding animals will be admitted to the Fair, except for educational exhibits.

  2. Limit one animal per exhibitor. Market Swine must weigh a minimum of 200lbs. and maximum of 325 lbs.

  3. All entries must be mailed with a check made payable to The Waterford Fair Association, $2.00 per animal to:  Ernie Buhl, 10320 Donation Road, Erie, PA  16509  not later than August 19th.  No phone or hand delivered entries will be accepted.  Entries mailed without the entry fee will be returned.

  4. Water nipples will be provided by the fair and water MUST BE AVAILABLE to all hogs at all times!

  5. Open class Market Swine accepted on space restrictions only.

  6. All exhibits will be under the control and director of the livestock committee but the Fair Association will in no case be responsible for any consequential or other loss, injury or damage done to, or occasioned by, or arising from any animal exhibited by the exhibitor.

  7. Both barrows and gilts will be accepted; however, gilts must have been born after March 10, current year, with proof of date of birth from the breeder.

  8. Market Swine will be divided into nearly equal classes or sub-classes by the Department Chairs and their representatives at their discretions.  There will be a maximum of nine classes/sub-classes with a minimum of four animals per class/sub-class.

Swine exhibitors who maintain the most attractive and sanitary exhibits will be eligible for special daily premiums. Inspection will be unannounced. Exhibitor must have its exhibitor’s number displayed plainly above its animal in order to be judged.
