Youth Livestock Auction

For decades the Waterford Fair has hosted an event that accomplishes more than most people realize. While the Youth Livestock Sale provides high quality meat to feed people and fill freezers, it does much more than that.

Every project is a yearlong effort full of lessons in hard work, sacrifice, budgeting, winning and losing, and so much more. It is these experiences which teach life skills, develop character, and realize the value of entrepreneurship while promoting an industry that has sustained our country for centuries. The amazing fact is this sale has an incredible influence in shaping hundreds of our local youth.

In conjunction with the Erie County 4H, The Waterford Fair encourages members of our community to attend the sale and bid on an animal raised by one of these amazing young people. It’s an opportunity to not only get some of the highest quality meat available but more importantly to invest in the next generation of agricultural entrepreneurs, who are all members of

4-H Clubs in Erie County. The sale is Thursday, September 5, 2019 at 6:00 PM in the Youth Livestock barn at the Waterford Community Fair.

A majority of the buyers fill their freezers with incredible pork, lamb, beef, and goat, but there are other options:

  • Donate the meat to a local charity

  • Donate the animal back to the sale to be resold to benefit a charity of your choice

  • Use the meat to cater a company picnic or provide employees with a special bonus
